As a Project Inspector, GS-1001-12, with the National Park Service (NPS), your duties will include but are not limited to:
Identify park resource preservation/conservation needs and provide the necessary information to scope, estimate and prioritized the work. Suggest design and/or treatment changes and highlight problems and/or issues to ensure designs meet project goals. Review project plans, contract specifications, and treatment proposals prior to contract advertisement to verify practicality of prosed construction or treatment. Coordinate construction or treatment work planning and scheduling with contractors and other state, local or utility agencies. Attend pre-bid, bid opening, and other meetings to discuss and clarify construction details with selected contractor. Supervise inspection of treatment operations. Ensure project goals are met and work items are performed in accordance with project plans and acceptable work practices. All qualifications must be met by the closing date of this announcement-12/27/2019-unless otherwise stated in this vacancy announcement. In order to qualify for the Project Inspector, GS-1001-12 position, you must posses at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the federal service providing project coordination services on all aspects of conservation, rehabilitation, preservation, construction and evaluation for projects that impact historic materials, objects and resources which includes:
developing and reviewing historic treatment projects; coordinating conservation projects; supervising inspection of treatment operations; applying solutions to work on and resolve problems and issues. Any individual who is currently holding, or has held within the previous 52 weeks, a General Schedule position under non-temporary appointment in the competitive or excepted service, must meet time-in-grade requirements (must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade or equivalent in the Federal service). The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
