The On-Demand Video engineering team in the Video Infrastructure Business designs and develops M3 Media Server product that supports VOD Streaming and nDVR Recording. The Media Server is a Linux application that runs on commercial off-the-shelf Linux servers. For VOD, it ingests existing video content from CDN and streams towards QAM Settop Boxes. For nDVR, it ingests live TV content on demand and plays them back based on end user requests. The nDVR Recorder can serve both QAM Setop Boxes as well as IP clients such as smart phones, iPADs, etc.
The Principal Software Engineer will be working on the MPEG video processing software modules on the nDVR Recorder product.
- Job responsibilities include design, coding, and unit testing of new features in the MPEG processing software components.
- Job also requires debugging of field issues when those issues are not reproducible in the lab environment. In those cases, direct interaction with customer engineering staff is required.
- Principal Software Engineer will work closely with systems engineers and system testers to complete assigned projects
