Job Purpose:
The incumbent is responsible to align and continuously improve site Health and Safety programs and behaviors with corporate goals while meeting productivity objectives.
Minimum Requirements:
o All potential candidates must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States, employer sponsorship is not available.
o Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Chemical Engineering or related discipline
o Five (5) or more years of EHS experience in a chemical or petro-chemical facility
Additional Preferred Competencies:
o Professional Certification (CSP, CEP, CHMM, etc.) from a nationally recognized organization
o Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or related discipline
o Experience with Responsible Care RC14001
o Experience with PSM and/or BBS programs
Major
Responsibilities:
o Lead EHS programs and continue the development of a culture of safety
o Continuously improve EHS programs and training throughout the facility
o Lead and/or participate in accident and incident investigations and recommend appropriate remediation.
o Partners with plant leadership as the SHE/EHS Subject Matter Expert to interpret federal, state and local regulations and implement programs to ensure compliance
